"Ocreatus"

20” x 24”  Original Fluid Art:   This exotic creation revealed itself from the artists realm of fantastical creatures through a process of palette knife and fluid art called the Ninja Swipe, first coined by artist, Sarah Mack.  It is an absolutely free-flinging form of manipulating paint.   Multifaceted metallic pigments of 24kgold, Payne’s gray, pearl rose quartz, Azo gold, green gold and pearl chartreuse and custom mixed colors, exploded onto the canvas into a tropical paradise of delicate flower-like foliage, duck orchids, and racket tailed hummingbird.   This likeness is similar to the Peruvian & Anna’s racket-tailed… a species of hummingbirds in the “brilliants”, tribe of Heliantheini in the subfamily Lesbiinae.  According to Wikipedia, John Gould in 1846 was first recognized for the genus “Ocreatus underwoodii”, one of three in this species.   A wonderful conversation starter for the avid “twitcher or birder”.
