"Kraken Buffet"

30” x 48”  Original Mixed Media Fluid Art:   A salute to my friend and fellow artist, Heather Mader, for inspiring me to step way outside my comfort zone, and try something HUGE!   Visualizing underwater creatures really lend themselves well to an abstract approach.  Using a “flip cup, and straight pour; shades of Prussian blue, Bright Aqua, Interference Blue, Sapphire, 24K Gold, Turquoise Phthalo and Green Gold, and Custom Red/Orange/Copper blends bring out the depth, and brilliance of sea life.  Genuine opal fragments represent suction cups on the Octopus tentacles, and also bring a neon like effect that adds another level of “wow” when exposed to direct light.
